An unvaccinated Rockland County, N.Y., resident exposed to an individual who received an oral poliovirus vaccine contracted the neurological disease and is now paralyzed, according to Rockland County and New York State Health Officials on Thursday, as Fox News Digital reported earlier.
The case raises the issue of polio vaccinations — and what Americans should know to protect their health.
"Based on what we know about this case and polio in general, the Department of Health strongly recommends that unvaccinated individuals get vaccinated or boosted with the FDA-approved IPV [inactivated] polio vaccine as soon as possible," State Health Commissioner Dr. Mary T. Bassett said in a release from the N.Y. State Department of Health that was provided to Fox News Digital.

Health officials said on Thursday that the oral vaccine — which contains live strands of the poliovirus — is no longer used in the U.S.
However, it is still used in many countries, including those in Eastern Europe.

Officials could not confirm where the individual who received the oral polio vaccine was from or where the person who is ill encountered this person.

The patient began experiencing symptoms about a month ago; state and county health officials began investigating and contact tracing.

Compared to a national geographic film on the same topic, this one is a much better piece. Great cinematics, use of drone footage, excellent camera work and great sound too.

“Riding the Dragon: The Bidens’ Chinese Secrets” highlights several deals that Hunter Biden was involved in as a board member of the Beijing-based BHR Partners investment firm.

⁣"2000 Mules," a documentary film created by Dinesh D'Souza, exposes widespread, coordinated voter fraud in the 2020 election, sufficient to change the overall outcome. Drawing on research provided by the election integrity group True the Vote, "2000 Mules" offers two types of evidence: geotracking and video.


“2000 Mules” is not as much the hard-hitting expose of the 2020 election that viewers might expect from its marketing. The movie is actually a great overview of election fraud that has been taking place for the past decade. And the research it features leaves a big question wide open.
Still, “2000 Mules” is a major, real bombshell.
The documentary comes from political pundit Dinesh D’Souza and familiar collaborators, including director Bruce Schooley, and D’Souza’s wife, Debbie, who has also produced his other movies, most recently “Trump Card” in 2018. It features research conducted by election integrity watchdog True the Vote.
Much criticism has been leveled at the use of cellphone data in “2000 Mules” to track “mules,” or ballot traffickers, and estimate the number of fraudulent votes in the 2020 election that gave Joe Biden the win over Donald Trump. This writer finds the cellphone data to be credible. The data is what makes “2000 Mules” a bombshell, the kind that comes along once in a century. It is the research methodology that is flawed. (More on this later.)
First, the findings that D’Souza presents to viewers are shocking. He asks incisive questions of True the Vote’s founder Catherine Engelbrecht and top researcher Glenn Phillips, leading the viewer through the complex data. Here is what they tell us:
Atlanta: 242 mules that went to an average of 24 ballot dropboxes and eight organizations in a two-week period.
Phoenix, 200+ mules
Milwaukee, 100 mules
Michigan, 500 mules
Philadelphia, 1,100 mules going to 50 dropboxes each. People driving to New Jersey possibly to pick up ballots.
The movie estimates that calculating for the ballot trafficking, Trump would have won with 305 electoral votes.
The movement of the mules shows that the fraud was deliberate.
“To get to some of these dropboxes, it had to be intentional. You had to get off the highway, go on some street, you had to turn in somewhere in order to get to those dropboxes,” Phillips said.
And Engelbrecht remarks on the gaslighting by the media in the aftermath.
“Now the narrative needs to be that this is the most secure election, this is the most fabulous election we have ever had. Pay no mind to the millions of Americans that are saying something is not right,” Engelbrecht said.
The movie also takes the audience through other kinds of ballot harvesting and ballot trafficking, including the exploitation of the disabled and the elderly, and the bullying of vulnerable populations, immigrants and the homeless.
It also mentions the well-known case in North Carolina of the Mark Harris campaign in 2018 as a prime example of ballot trafficking.
All of this information makes “2000 Mules” a great overview on election fraud. But the methodology of the research into the 2020 presidential election has one glaring flaw.
True the Vote seems to make assumptions on the nonprofits, or the “stash houses” where the fraudulent ballots are kept, as one of the starting point of its research along with the ballot dropboxes, for pinpointing the movements of the mules. Additionally, D’Souza never explains or even gives a hint of who these nonprofits are. So the viewer is left in the dark. This begs the question: Did True the Vote have a preset list of nonprofits they knew were stash houses from previous research, instead of determining who the stash houses are from the mules? Is the research completely nonpartisan?
D’Souza has answered a similar question from a viewer here, but has not addressed this concern. In journalism, you can provide hints for who the nonprofits are. For example, are they big nonprofits with obvious political leanings or small nonprofits doing unrelated work, like animal rescue? D’Souza and his producers not giving any hints at all leaves a big piece of the puzzle off the table.

The notions of globalization and world order have become rather closely connected today. The countries' mutual influence as well as the impact of global processes on nations and states are evident today (Ilyin and Leonova 2015). Within the political realm globalization considerably affects the transformation of the states' sovereign prerogatives since it contributes to the change and reduction of the scope of the states' sovereign powers.

It is obvious that the unfolding globalization cannot but complete with some institutionalizing of the relations in the foreign policy sphere although this path is difficult and ambiguous.

⁣The 1991 documentary of the making of Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' album that undoubtedly broke them through to the mainstream proper with the crossover hit, "Under the Bridge."
When I originally saw the film in the mid-90s, I was astounded at the recording process — with a much younger Rick Rubin and engineer Brendan O'Brien (before he became a household name producer himself with Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, etc.), and made in a house, the supposedly haunted The Mansion (which Rubin now owns).

It shows a much younger band — there's a lot of serious talk mixed in with their own brand of sexual juvenility.
What's interesting is seeing the brief moments of interplay amongst the Peppers. John Frusciante before his descent into his hell of drugs and madness and his subsequent return to the fold. Kiedis mixing his own sense of the world from the brotherhood he feels with the band, along with Flea's love of funk and the music and his daughter, Clara who's just a toddler here (and now the band's photographer).

The best moments are when the band is shown recording the actual music — insights into the unorthodox methods and instruments they took — playing drums in a bathroom, using oil drums and metallic junk for the breakdown in "Breaking the Girl" and Kiedis' occasional off-tune vocal takes.
The best moment may be the recording on "They're Red Hot", the quiet outro track on Blood Sugar Sex Magik — they recorded it live, outside the house, on the grounds, at night.

If anything it shows a band just before they became HUGE and before the tragic excesses of what this album did to them in their history. Of course, they've recovered and succeeded even further since then, but they almost seem quiet, dour and yes, mature now. It seems that the sex and funk are a little more PC, and a little more PG.

Kariera amatorska -- swoją karierę sportową rozpoczynał jako bardzo młody adept jujutsu, z czasem zainteresował się Karate Kyokushin. W 1984 r. zdobył w tej dyscyplinie mistrzostwo Polski juniorów. W 1985 r. powtórzył ten sukces w kategorii seniorów. W karate stoczył 13 oficjalnych pojedynków, wszystkie wygrał. W Lipcu 1993 r. stał się posiadaczem czarnego pasa (1 dan). Z początkiem 1987 r. rozpoczął uprawiać kick-boxing w formule full contact, mimo że dyscyplina ta była wówczas w Polsce zakazana.
11 października 1987 r. zdobył w Monachium amatorskie mistrzostwo świata w kategorii wagowej do 81 kg. Tego samego roku wygrał również mistrzostwo Polski, a na Węgrzech Puchar Świata, zostając uznanym za najlepszego zawodnika turnieju.
Kariera zawodowa -- w 1988 r. zdecydował się na wyjazd do USA, aby rozpocząć karierę zawodową. W październiku stoczył swoją pierwszą walkę. W Rockford znokautował Boba Handegana w 4. rundzie.

19 sierpnia 1989 r. w swej piątej walce za Oceanem zwyciężył jednogłośnie na punkty dotychczas niepokonanego Ricka „The Jet" Roufusa i zdobył zawodowe mistrzostwo Stanów Zjednoczonych organizacji PKC. Do jego nazwiska przyległ również ringowy przydomek Punisher.
4 listopada 1989 r. w Chicago pokonał Dona „The Dragon" Wilsona i został zawodowym mistrzem świata organizacji ISKA, PKC i FFKA.
Do 1991 r. stoczył sześć pojedynków, pokonując między innymi Boba „The Thunder" Thurmana oraz renomowanego Marka Longo. Był do tego momentu niepokonanym zawodnikiem na zawodowym ringu, legitymującym się bilansem 29-0-0 (19 KO). 22 czerwca 1991 r., pomimo problemów osobistych, stoczył rewanżowy pojedynek z Rickiem Roufusem, który przegrał w drugiej rundzie przez nokaut. Po tej porażce rozpoczął w lutym karierę w boksie zawodowym, wygrywając pierwszą walkę przed czasem w 4. rundzie. 22 listpada 1992 r. stanął w Paryżu do pojedynku z wielokrotnym mistrzem Holendrem Robem Kamanem (zwanym także „Mr. Low-Kick"; 98 wygranych walk, 78 KO.) w formule low-kick. Przegrał przez TKO w siódmej rundzie po niezwykle dramatycznym boju. Po tej porażce raz jeszcze stanął do walki o utracone tytuły. Przez następne lata szukał szansy na rewanż z Kamanem i Roufusem, ale nigdy jej nie dostał.

22 czerwca 1993 r. pokonał w Montrealu przez TKO Michaela McDonalda. W tym samym roku zwyciężył Mike'a Winklejohna, zdobywając tytuł mistrz świata ISKA w formule oriental rules (odmiana dopuszczająca low-kick i uderzenia kolanem). W grudniu 1995 r. stoczył swoje ostatnie starcie w kickboxingu. W Krakowie pokonał Włocha Stefano Tomiazzo, zdobywając pas mistrza świata organizacji WKA i unifikując wszystkie światowe tytuły w full-contact. Tym samym stał się posiadaczem wszystkich najważniejszych pasów mistrzowskich: ISKA, KICK, PKC, WAKO-PRO, FFKA, WKA i TBC.

Równolegle ze startami w kickboxingu Piotrowski kontynuował karierę zawodowego boksera, staczając od 1992 do 1996 r. w sumie 21 pojedynków w wadze półciężkiej. Wygrał wszystkie.
Zawodową karierę zakończył 13 grudnia 1996 r. w Hanowerze wygraną walką bokserską. W 1997 r. dostał propozycję walki o zawodowe mistrzostwo świata w boksie organizacji IBF z Reggie Johnsonem, lecz ze względu na kłopoty zdrowotne musiał zrezygnować. W 2002 r. powrócił do Polski.

Wyróżnienia
W 1987 r. dostał nagrodę „Syrenki" od miesięcznika Sportowiec za największą niespodziankę sportową roku. Trzykrotnie wybierany do pierwszej dziesiątki najlepszych sportowców w Polsce w plebiscycie Przeglądu Sportowego (1987, 1989, 1990), dwukrotnie zajmując 2 pozycję. Prestiżowy magazyn Fighter klasyfikując największych kickboxerów lat 80., umieścił Piotrowskiego w wadze do 172 funtów (tj. 78 kg) na drugim miejscu. Dwukrotnie, w latach 1989 i 1994 został uznany przez amerykańskich fachowców kickbokserem roku. Został także wybrany przez amerykańską prasę na jednego z dwóch najlepszych fighterów lat 90. W 1991 r. Aleksander Bilik wydał książkę Kickbokser, opisującą karierę Piotrowskiego do roku 1990. W 2005 r. telewizja TVN24 nakręciła reportaż o Marku Piotrowskim zatytułowany „Wojownik" W 2005 r. powstał o nim nawet komiks pt. Kickbokser (zamieszczony w dodatku do Gazety Wyborczej). 2006 r. -- Marek Piotrowski otrzymał statuetkę Stanley Honorowy -- KICK BOXING

⁣Environmental advocates have long protested the role that oil companies play in exacerbating the climate change crisis. Their voices have rattled some of the world's most influential leaders, inspired meaningful reforms, and galvanized a desire for more clean energy solutions. This has led many to believe that the age of Big Oil is on its way out. But according to the feature-length documentary Why Big Oil Conquered the World, its reign has only just begun. The film theorizes that the industry is actually based entirely on the principle of exerting power over the people. Up until this point in history, oil has served as a means to that end.

This thesis begins with eugenics, a Darwin-inspired movement that supported genetic manipulation, and the breeding of new generations that would possess only the most desirable human characteristics. Many members of the elite threw their support behind the study and implementation of eugenics, including John D. Rockefeller, Jr., and their goals soon took on an even more sinister tone. They proposed the isolation, containment and complete control of "subnormal" populations, such as the disfigured, uneducated and impoverished. They lobbied for the power to decide who lived or died.

Their approach might have changed over the intervening years - and their harsh rhetoric softened - but their ultimate goals have remained unchanged. They've simply adopted a more polished public relations image. Meanwhile, the masses are oblivious to their nefarious ulterior motives. The oil oligarchies even worked to hijack the environmental movement, and perverted the message of conservation by suggesting population control as a means of reducing our carbon footprint. In recent years, their vocal support of the Paris Climate Accord has proven equally suspect. Can the culprits behind our current environmental catastrophes really be trusted to free us from them?

At times, the film plays like a science fiction based horror movie, but it provides substantial footage and extensive research in support of even its most outlandish claims. Direct quotes and on-camera sound bytes prove especially damning to the powerful figures at the center of these schemes.

⁣The film documents Becker's rise to near-stardom, following him from the first time he touched a guitar as a five-year-old to when he was drafted into The David Lee Roth Band as lead guitarist at the age of 19. In 1990, this was considered perhaps the most coveted rock guitar gig on the planet, as Becker would be following in the footsteps of acclaimed guitarists Eddie van Halen and Steve Vai, both of whom played with David Lee Roth as lead guitar player. It was shortly after that Becker was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more popularly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and given just 3 to 5 years to live. Becker was able to finish the recording of Roth's third full-length studio album A Little Ain't Enough but was unable to make the tour due to his physical decline.

Despite his diagnosis, Becker continued to write music even after losing all the ability to move and speak. Becker would go on to write and record two full-length studio albums Perspective (1996) and Collection (2008). Becker communicates exclusively via an eye pattern chart invented by his father, artist and poet, Gary Becker.

Although the film examines Becker's physical decline and his missed shot at rock superstardom, the film is a positive account of Becker's strength and survival for the past 22 years of his life.

The film makes extensive use of Becker's family archives through photographs, Super 8mm film and VHS footage. The film features interviews with Becker's family and friends as well as notable guitarists Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.
